Can I supply firewood from my property?
A licence is required to supply (including sell) flora as firewood that has been lawfully taken from your private property.
To be lawfully taken, the flora (firewood) must have been taken or collected from your property in accordance with the Environmental Protection (Clearing of Native Vegetation) Regulations 2004. This may be via a clearing permit, or where an exemption applies. Further information on these regulations and lawful clearing can be found at: Native vegetation clearing permit forms
The application for a licence to supply lawfully taken flora as firewood from private property is Regulation 63 Private land supplier’s licence accessed in the “Downloads” section below:

Biological flora surveys
A person who takes flora for inventory work conducted in the provision of environmental consulting services and obtains specimens for identification purposes associated with this work can do so under a Flora taking (biological assessment) licence.

Management of commercial harvesting of flora in Western Australia (21 June 2023 – 20 June 2028)
The harvesting of native flora in Western Australia for commercial purposes is conducted in accordance with the department’s plan, Management of Commercial Harvesting of Flora in Western Australia.
A system of licensing, area and species-specific management, and monitoring has been developed to ensure the conservation of flora being harvested. Please note that the application forms within the document are subject to change. Please refer to the list above for the most up-to-date application forms. The plan is also recognised as an approved Wildlife Trade Management Plan under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
