Can I supply firewood from my property?

To be lawfully taken, the flora (firewood) must have been taken or collected from your property in accordance with the Environmental Protection (Clearing of Native Vegetation) Regulations 2004. This may be via a clearing permit, or where an exemption applies. Further information on these regulations and lawful clearing can be found at: Native vegetation clearing permit forms

The application for a licence to supply lawfully taken flora as firewood from private property is Regulation 63 Private land supplier’s licence accessed in the “Downloads” section below:

*You are required to provide evidence of lawful clearing as part of this application.

Biological flora surveys

A person who takes flora for inventory work conducted in the provision of environmental consulting services and obtains specimens for identification purposes associated with this work can do so under a Flora taking (biological assessment) licence.

For more information on the licence requirements, see the fact sheet (in the download section below) for Environment Consultants.
