Conservation and Land Management Act 1984
Section 9

In accordance with section 9(4) of the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984 (CALM Act) the Minister advises of his intention to act under section 10A (1)(a) of the CALM Act.

At the request of the Water Corporation (WC), the Minister for Environment proposes to amend State Forest No. 65 to create a water reserve over the Lexia Ground Water Treatment Plant, located 13 km east of Wanneroo.

The Lexia Ground Water Treatment Plant is an important and permanent site for the collection and treatment of potable groundwater. To protect the current infrastructure the WC are seeking the excision from the State forest and the creation of a reserve to be managed by the WC. The excision will enable the greatest degree of site security and safety. The excision is an administrative process and will not involve the clearing of vegetation.

To enable the creation of the reserve the Minister for Environment proposes to excise 11.36 hectares from State Forest No. 65 for subsequent management by WC.
