Biodiversity and Conservation Science (BCS) coordinates and delivers scientific research, data, monitoring and advice for the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
Under leadership from Dr Margaret Byrne, Executive Director of Biodiversity and Conservation Science, BCS staff undertake research and monitoring projects to support evidence-based decision making and the conservation and land management functions of the department.
In addition, BCS staff are custodians of physical conservation collections in the WA Herbarium and WA Seed Centre (Kensington), plus biodiversity data repositories supporting conservation of threatened flora, fauna and ecological communities.
