• $493,200 allocated to 14 community projects in latest rounds of Community Rivercare Program
  • Funded projects to improve health of Swan Canning Riverpark
  • 104 projects across 51 volunteer-based community groups delivered since 2018

The latest two rounds of the State Government’s Community Rivercare Program have delivered a total of $493,200 towards 14 projects, to help volunteer community groups protect priority sites along the Swan and Canning Rivers.

A total of $350,000 in funds was available under the North Subregion Round, with the City of Bayswater receiving $150,000, and the Friends of Bennett Brook and Friends of Mosman Park Bushland receiving $100,000 each to deliver their respective projects.

Under Round 8 of the Program, nine community groups delivering 12 projects will share a total of $143,200 in grants.

Funded projects will provide habitat for species dependent on waterways, stabilise foreshores, reduce invasive weed species and increase the biodiversity of local plants in waterways.

Since the Program started in 2018, the State Government has invested over $2.8 million to fund 51 groups to deliver 104 on-ground projects.
