Submissions on the Badimia parks and reserves draft joint management plan can be made during the two month public comment period to Friday 8 November 2024.

To ensure your submission is as effective as possible:

• be clear and concise
• refer your points to the page numbers or specific sections in the plan
• say whether you agree or disagree with any or all of the management objectives and strategies – clearly state your reasons, particularly if you disagree
• give sources of information where possible
• suggest alternatives for those aspects of the plan with which you disagree
• be respectful – submissions with abusive or racist comments will not be considered.

The joint management plan may be modified if a submission: 

• provides additional information of direct relevance to management 
• provides additional information on affected user groups of direct relevance to management
• indicates a change in (or clarifies) government legislation or management policy 
• proposes an alternative approach that was considered would better achieve the objectives for the planning area than that proposed
• indicates omissions, inaccuracies or a lack of clarity.

The joint management plan may not be modified if a submission: 

• clearly supports the plan
• addresses issues beyond the scope of the plan, or recommends the inclusion of detailed or prescriptive information that is not appropriate for a plan of this type 
• refers to issues that are already noted within the plan or already considered during its preparation 
• proposes an alternative approach, but the approach in the plan is still considered the best option
• contributes options that are not feasible (generally due to conflict with legislation, government or departmental policy, lack of resource capacity, or lack of knowledge to support decision-making) 
• is based on unclear or factually incorrect information, or information that was unable to be validated
• makes general, open or neutral statements, or no change was sought.
