A Corporate Policy i​s a numbered Policy Statement containing principles and rules that:

  • outline the department’s position
  • guide decisions and actions in the conduct of the department’s business

These policy statements include some developed by the agencies that amalgamated to form DBCA. Others were developed after the department was formed.

Biodiversity Conservation Act and Regulations

On 1 January 2019, the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2018 replaced both the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950 and the Sandalwood Act 1929 and their associated regulations.

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 (PID Act) facilitates the disclosure of public interest information by providing protection for those who make disclosures and those who are the subject of disclosures.
